I'd love to say that Northwestern was an easy win, but that's not the truth. Back in 2010-ish, HMU was ranked #1 going into a game in Evanston. The Wildcats rose tall that day and blasted the Crows into scurrying back to the title game, only to lose to Notre Dame. Northwestern wasn't an easy win today, they were an extremely easy win. HMU led 14-0 after the first on a 20-yard TD pass from QB Clarence Oveur to WR Lance Day and a pick six by CB Jules Barbish. At halftime, the Crows led 33-0 on a safety sack by DT William Washington, a Delmar Coffee TD run, a TD catch by Randolph Yapp and a field goal from Jerome Sherman. After three, it was 40-0 as backup QB Elmer Pitcock tossed a 63-yard TD to WR Uti Possidetis. In the fourth, NW finally scored but the Crows tacked on two more late TDs. Yeah, that easy. 54-7, Crows and a trip to the championship game. Let's hope it ends better than last year's 12-0 season marred by a title game loss.
