It never rains in southern California but what it pours. With veteran quarterback Perry Wiser sidelined due to injury, backup Jamey Robinson came in and pitched a superb game for San Diego, winning their first conference title in three years. Robinson's star wideouts Ramon Massey and Derek Choice were fantastic in the go-to role. Richmond QB Buck Roberts and his young receiving corps were not so able, and the SDSU defensive line and blitz put enormous pressure on Roberts all game long.
