Defensive streaks end but Wyoming rolls

Coming in to the game against Ohio, Wyoming's defense had yet to allow a touchdown, or even a 100 yard passer. Both of those streaks are no more, but not without a fight.

With 5 minutes remaining in the game, Ohio QB Justin Grant found TE Louis Hernandez over the middle on 4th and goal, who then dragged his way to the goal line for the first TD given up this season by the Wyoming defense. This was not without controversy, however, as the booth reviewed the spot. After review, the call stood as a touchdown, ending the streak. On the extra point attempt, John Fletcher broke through the middle of the line to block the attempt and T.J. Atwater scooped up the ball and raced all the way back for a 2-point defensive conversion. This came after the Ohio offense had been inside the 10 yard line on 4 other occasions, but only coming away with 3 field goals to show for it.

"I think our defense did very well today. We allowed a few more yards than normal, and even gave up that Touchdown, but my hat's off to this Ohio team. They had a gameplan coming in and stuck to it. They wanted to control the clock, slow down the game, and keep our defense on the field for as long as possible, and it worked. Our guys wore down as the game went along."

Ball control was the name of the game for Ohio as Coach T stated. Ohio had possession for nearly 2/3 of the game.

MLB Luke Chase led the D with 12 tackles and 5 for loss.
