Cowboys defeat Boise St on blue turf
The Wyoming Cowboys (3-0) defeated #19 Boise St. (2-1) on their own field Saturday by a final score of 31-14. The Wyoming defense once again showed it is one of the best in the nation.
Coming in to the game ranked #1 in the nation in total defense and pass defense, the Cowboys defense only added to their stats leaving Boise without allowing an offensive score and only allowing 79 passing yards. The defense forced 5 turnovers, 4 coming by way of interception.
The offense didn't disappoint, either, racking up over 400 total yards on the day. The lone dark spot from the game is that two more interceptions were returned for touchdowns, giving Wyoming opponents 4 TDs off interceptions in only three games this season. Coach T had this to say about the interceptions.
"When you run the kind of offense we do with lots of slip screens and passes in the flats, you run the risk of having interceptions run all the way back. We just have to get to work this week on helping our quarterbacks understand the coverages a little better and not just throw those lazy passes where anyone can pick them off. We'll get better at that, I'll go ahead and tell you."
