#1 Alabama (9-0) has an A offense, an A+ defense, and is A+ overall. We are #1 in everything except pass offense (116th) and turnover differential (14th). Mississippi State (6-2) has a B- offense, a B defense, and is B overall. They are #57 in pts/gm, #80 in total offense, and #27 in total defense. Senior C Marcus Ford was late for team practice and will miss 3 games. Weather: Clear and cold with wind up 12 mph.

FB Ben Wilson busts probably the longest run of his career when he goes 25 yards for a TD, 7-0 Tide.

K Craig Gunn hits a 22 yard FG, 10-0.

HB Tim Poe scores on a 10 yard TD run, 17-0.

PR Adam Leonard returns a punt 72 yards for the score, 24-0. LOLB Richard Simmons makes a pick, breaks a couple of tackles, then highsteps about 20 yards into the endzone on his way to a 95 yard INT return for the score, 24-0. MSU finally gets on the boar with 1:36 left in the game when QB Murphy throws a 60 yard TD pass to Ball.

Mississippi State played very tough in this one. We finally put these guys away late though.
