Cats start fast, but Tide catches up and then surpasses them

#1 Alabama (6-0) has an A offense, an A+ defense, and is A+ overall. We are #1 in everything except pass offense (113th), rush defense (2nd), pass defense (2nd), and turnover differential (2nd). #21 Northwestern (5-1) has a B- offense, a B defense, and is B overall. They are #43 in pts/gm, #15 in total offense, and #38 in total defense. Weather: Clear and cold.

NU QB Gray throws an 82 yard TD pass to Paschall to make it 7-0 Cats. Didn't we play Cats last week? Anyway, a 3 yard TD run by NU's White and it's 14-0 NW. The Bama defense finally stiffens and forces a punt. PR Adam Leonard returns it 85 yards for the score to jumpstart the Tide. HB Michael Gibbs scores on a 9 yard TD run. 14-14.

HB Gibbs then scores on a 2 yard TD run to put us up 7. HB Leonard then rumbles 46 yards for a score, 28-14. An 8 yard TD run by HB Tim Poe puts the Tide up 21 just before halftime.

The Tide gets rolling in the second half when HB Michael Gibbs scores on an 8 yard TD run, 35-14. K Craig Gunn hits a 48 yard FG, 38-14. HB Gibbs scores on a 19 yard TD run, 45-14.

HB Dan Jacques takes it in from 19 yards, 52-14. QB David Turner throws a 23 yard TD pass to HB Elton Razzano.

The Cats were game in the 1st quarter, but PR Adam Leonard changed the momentum in the game and the Tide got rolling after that. The defense woke up after that and shutout the Cats for the remainder of the game.
