IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
Brown held the 31-28 on the final drive of the game, and they managed to move the chains. Our only hope was to force them to go 3-and-out, and burn our timeouts after each play. As soon as they picked up a first down, the game was finished (barring a fumble or similar miracle).

GAME BALLS
ILB Chris McCargo picked up 3 sacks and forced 2 fumbles. It was a great effort by one of the few players on defense who didn't have a terrible day. ... True freshman WR Joey Blair--fifth on our WR depth chart--came from nowhere to grab two long balls for an eye-popping 108 yards and a TD. Brown tried to cover him with a safety, and he made them pay twice.

KEY STATISTICS
Brown won the time of possession battle. Something that doesn't happen very often for most teams when they play against us.

NOTES
Freshmen CB James Parrish and WR Joey Blair each scored their first career TDs in the 4th quarter as we made our comeback bid. ... McPhearson's 350 yards were good for 2nd place in our team's single-game record book (behind only his own record of 453 set in 2008 against Columbia). However, it's also the fifth time he's thrown at least 4 interceptions in a single game. ... We came into this game ranked 36th in the country. We expect quite a tumble after this loss.
