IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
Junior free safety Kevin Coleman scooped up the fumble and ran it back for the touchdown late in the 2nd quarter. If Columbia had driven for a score, they would've only been down by one score. Instead, they fumbled it away and e had a 17 point lead going into the half. That was probably the turning point that brought the victory out of Columbia's reach.
GAME BALLS
HB David Taylor had a monster game with 187 rushing yards and TDs. ... Backup QB Tony Williams came in when McPhearson got hurt, and he did a fine job of keeping the train on the tracks. He went 3/3 for 40 yards and a touchdown.
KEY STATISTICS
We held onto the ball for almost 19 minutes, and we converted 6 of 9 3rd downs. It was a dominating performance as we played keep-away once we got the lead.
