Week 8 2010

Harvard Crimson
vs
Columbia Lions

Box Score1st2nd3rd4thFinal
Columbia 0 7 7 0 14
Harvard 7 10 7 17 41

IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
Junior free safety Kevin Coleman scooped up the fumble and ran it back for the touchdown late in the 2nd quarter. If Columbia had driven for a score, they would've only been down by one score. Instead, they fumbled it away and e had a 17 point lead going into the half. That was probably the turning point that brought the victory out of Columbia's reach.

GAME BALLS
HB David Taylor had a monster game with 187 rushing yards and TDs. ... Backup QB Tony Williams came in when McPhearson got hurt, and he did a fine job of keeping the train on the tracks. He went 3/3 for 40 yards and a touchdown.

KEY STATISTICS
We held onto the ball for almost 19 minutes, and we converted 6 of 9 3rd downs. It was a dominating performance as we played keep-away once we got the lead.

NOTES
The surprise of the season, David Taylor, who changed positions from FB to HB when we failed to land a halfback recruit, continued his fine year. He now owns two of the top 3 rushing performances in our team's single-game record book. ... 342 of Taylor's 709 rushing yards this year have come after the 1st hit. He's been a hard-runner. ... SS Antwain Young recovered his 3 fumble of the year. It's the new single-season record for our team. ... We maintain 2nd place in the conference behind the Brown Bears.
