IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
QB D.J. McPhearson made a bad throw down at the goalline as he was being hit. We were down by 7 points with 19 seconds left, and his wobbly toss got picked off and run back for the game-clinching touchdown. ...If not for the injury to bruising HB David Taylor, we might have been able to run it in instead of throwing the pass there.

KEY STATISTICS

CB Jason Mason broke up 5 passes. ... LB Steve Montgomery stepped up with Richard Longshore out with an injury, picking up 2 sacks. ... HB David Taylor broke two long TDs in the 2nd quarter, but he left with a torn shoulder muscle late in the 3rd quarte

NOTES
Junior ILB Leon Neal finished the year with 70+ tackles for the third year. ... Redshirt sophomore QB D.J. McPhearson finished with more TDs than interceptions for the 3rd straight year (he was granted a medical redshirt after playing briefly early in 2009, explaining why he's played three years). ...
