Blowout

September 8, 2007
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - It didn't take long for Coach Ghettoshark to get his players rallied after a crushing 70-10 defeat at USC last week. Granted, it was against FCS Midwest, but it's a start for the Vandals who are now .500, and it gave Coach Ghettoshark his first win. After the game, Coach Ghettoshark said, "We needed this win as a team. Now that these young men know what winning feels like, I'm sure they'll play harder."

Speedster WR Max Komar had another career day, catching 5 passes for 217 yards. "[Komar] is a great player. 200 plus yards in consecutive games and 4 TDs after week 2. I think All-America might be in the future for him," said Coach Ghettoshark.

Both QBs seemed to have great games, Nooy going 14 out of 16 for 266 yards while Joseph went 8 out of 13 for 182 yards. Both had 2 TDs and one interception. Coach Ghettoshark said of the starting situation for next week, "We'll see how they play in practice. Nooy's the better athlete, but Joseph's got the accuracy. We might go with a QB rotation, it seemed to work out well in last years Florida team."

The Vandal rushing game had another poor performance, and starter Deonte Jackson was benched after fumbling 4 times in the first half. Veteran and Captain Brian Flowers will be the starter for next week's rivalry game versus Washington State. "The fumbles shocked me. Jackson was supposed to have some of the best hands on the team. It might have just been some inexperience since he's only a redshirt freshman, but until we know for sure he'll hold onto the ball Flowers is starting," said Ghettoshark.

The Vandals defense allowed no points and terrorized FCS Midwest's QB into throwing 5 picks. "The defense should have had a shutout. Our special teams just didn't do their part and missed too many tackles giving [FCS Midwest] a kick return TD," said Ghettoshark.

Coach Ghettoshark said following the game, "I have a good feeling that this confidence carries over to next week's big game [at Washington St.]."
