MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Until last week's 45-20 win at San Jose State, Idaho (3-4 2-1 WAC) hadn't had over 100 yards rushing in a game all season. They even got -17 yards on the ground in a loss to Northern Illinois. Something clicked last week though as the Vandals rushed for 175 yards on the ground and gained over 200 this week, in a 34-17 beatdown of Fresno State (2-4 1-2 WAC). HB Brian Flowers was just shy of 200 yards, gaining 196 yards on 49 carries. Even more surprising was that 3 of Idaho's 4 rushing touchdowns came from FB Rolly Lumbala.

"Flowers and Lumbala might get the stats, and they sure as hell earned them, but the offensive line played just as well of a game, if not better. On Rolly's first touchdown run, he didn't even get touched. And they also didn't let QB Chris Joseph, who isn't exactly the fastest player in the world, get sacked once the whole game," said Coach Ghettoshark.

The Vandals defense only allowed 207 offensive yards to the Bulldogs, a season high. And not only did they hold Fresno State to under 70 yards rushing, down from 192 last week, they also picked off QB Tom Brandstater 2 times.

"The defense did what they needed to do. They were stopped Fresno's offense, and gave the ball back to our offense. I don't know what more you could ask for out of a defense," said Ghettoshark.

"Another reason why we had success on the field today was because our passing game didn't make mistakes. I told [QB Chris Joseph] that we didn't need big plays, just take what the defense gives him. In the end, the +3 turnover ratio was the major factor in deciding the win," said Ghettoshark.

The Vandals look to improve to .500 next week when they visit struggling the New Mexico State Aggies(1-4 0-1 WAC).
