MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - The #20 Hawaii Warriors were the undefeated, ranked team with BCS dreams while the Idaho Vandals were, well the Vandals. "In order to have a chance of pulling off the upset, we must play a perfect game, and even then nothing is guaranteed," said Coach Ghettoshark in a pregame interview. Quite frankly, the Vandals played nowhere near perfect in a 49-6 embarrassing loss at home against the Warriors. "Hawaii simply had more to play for than we did and our guys just didn't execute," said Coach Ghettoshark.

The Vandal and Warrior offenses were complete opposites on the field. The Vandals didn't even score a single point until Tino Amancio kicked a field goal midway through the 3rd. Hawaii had already scored 4 TDs at that point, 3 coming off of Colt Brennan passes. Brennan would then go on to score 3 more TD passes, 2 of them to wideout Jason Rivers. "Hawaii runs this fast paced spread-style passing attack and our defense just didn't have the speed to keep up with them. We gave up 6 TDs through the air, even more than we did against #1 USC," said Coach Ghettoshark. There is some good news for the Vandals passing attack that has struggled since week 3 as QB Nathan Enderle is expected to return from a broken collarbone next week.

Halfback Brian Flowers had 10.8 yards per carry, but only ran the ball 5 times. "We had success running the ball right at the teeth of the Hawaii defense, but since we got down early we weren't able to stick with it," said Ghettoshark, "[w]e only ran the ball 13 times and that's nowhere near enough." The Vandals outrushed Hawaii 86-74 despite Hawaii having 7 more carries.

"If we are to have any shot at gaining a bowl berth, these guys better step it up quickly since we can only lose 2 more games. We're already at 4 losses and even if we finish 6-6, we're not guaranteed of a bowl berth," said Ghettoshark. "They need to prove to me that they want it. They sure as hell aren't showing it through their performance on the field."

The Vandals will travel to San Jose for a WAC conference game vs the San Jose State Spartans.
