This was the biggest blowout in any bowl's history. Many FIU fans left at halftime. This was fun for UNI to show the Bowl committee that they deserved to be in a better and bigger bowl game not against a team that was 6-6. For UNI to only have two losses in the SEC, they should have had a better bowl, but UNI will take the pretty crystal trophy home at the end.
A 21 yard pass started off the scoring and Robertson would hook up with WR Chris Peterson a total of three times, each for touchdowns. Peterson also had an 87 yard kick return for a touchdown.
Halfback Steve Jackson ran for 169 yards and five touchdowns and also returned a 68 yard punt return for a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, UNI was ahead by so much that they subbed in their second string offense and defense to give players that hadn't played a game in a while to play in the bowl game.
UNI will look to have a good recruiting class during the off-season.
