Sun Devils Hand Cardinal 2nd Straight Loss
The Stanford Cardinal were handed loss number 2 yesterday as the Arizona State Sun Devils just took over the game in the 2nd Quarter.
The Cardinal got the ball to start the game and didn't do much with it. After a good punt the Sun Devils started with the ball just outside there 20 yard line. On there 2nd play on offense they connected on a 73 yard TD strike to open the scoring.
Stanford answered back with a scoring drive of there own when Kimble punched it in and tied the game at 7. The insueing kickoff was returned by ASU to the Cardinal side of the field. This lead to a ASU TD giving them a 14-7 lead. Forcier threw an int on the next drive which lead to an ASU field goal making it 17-7. Forcier woud throw one more pick at the end of the half and the 2nd quarter would end a 17-7 lead for ASU.
Arizona State took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half and drove down the field capped off by an QB run for a TD on an option play. Arizona State lead 24-7. Forcier had yet another pass go threw the hands of his wide reciever and it was picked off and taken to the house fir a 31-7 ASU lead.
The Cardinal could not make a comeback but did have an interception run back for a TD by McNally but the 2 point conversion failed. Final score for the game ASU 31 Stanford 13.
Stanford get a break this week because of a bye. Week 4 brings in state rival San Jose State. Stanford should win this game but we shall see.
