Stanford Wins 4th Straight

The Stanford Cardinal earned their 4th win of the season and 2nd conference win with there victory over Arizona. It was a beautiful day for football but both teams were sloppy with the football.

Arizona got the scoring started as QB Tuitama hit WR Reese for a TD. On Stanfords next possession Forcier fumbled and Arizona recovered. Arizona drove right back down the field but a Arizona fumble recovered by MLB Snyder would end the scoring threat.

Stanford marched back down the field but Kimble was hit hard and coughed up the football when the Cardinal were in the red zone. Arizona was looking to capitalize. On a 2nd and goal from the 9, Tuitama found an open player in the endzone. The only thing is it was Amajoyi of Stanford. Ending a good scoring chance and keeping the game at 7-0 Arizona. Stanford went 3 and out. Arizona took over but Tuitama threw his 2nd pick of the quarter. Forcier would fumble the ball back to Arizona but the defense would hold. Stanford did manage a field goal late in the 2nd. Halftime score Arizona 7 Stanford 3.

Stanford got the ball to start the 2nd half and wasted little time scoring. Forcier found TE Dray on a PA pass to give Stanford a 10-7 lead. Arizona would answer though with a field goal to tie the game at 10. The turning point came late in the 3rd quarter. After a punt pinned Arizona deep, Tuitama attempted to hit Reese on an out route. C. Gatewood jumped the route and took it 21 yards to the house for a 17-10 Stanford lead. Stanford would put the game out of reach late in the 4th with a short TD run by fullback Marecic. Final score Stanford 24 Arizona 10.

After the game we learned that Stanford has picked up a commitment from a 3 Star WR. Howard Brown from Safety Harbor, Florida gave his verbal committment to the Cardinal. The 5'11" 173 lb WR was the #52 ranked WR in the country. He is a solid prospect and with his A- speed should give the Cardinal the deep threat they have been missing all year.
