Cardinal Handle WAC Champion New Mexico

New Mexico loses today to the Stanford Cardinal 38-24. New Mexico got the scoring started with a 44 yard field goal. Stanford answered right back with an 8 yard TD from Pritchard to Dray. Following a interception by Evans, Kimble scampered 64 yards and a 14-3 lead. New Mexico answered with a TD run of its own. 14-10 Stanford.

Stanford kicked a FG to start the 2nd quarter scoring. New Mexico tied the game with a TD pass and A. Kimble scored on another TD run this one from one yard out. Stanford leads 24-17 at the half.

Kimble scored again to start the 3rd quarter. This time on a 51 yard screen pass from Pritchard. Fullback Marecic would punch one in from one yard out and a 38-17 lead.

The Lobo's would add a meaningless TD late in the 4th quarter. Final score Stanford 38 New Mexico 24.

All in all a good season for Stanford finishing 5th in the conference but only with 3 conference losses. After a tought 0-2 start, the Cardinal got it together and ended the season with a 6 game winning streak. The Cardinal will be hitting the recruiting hard this offseason. Trying to stay competitive in the pac-10 will be difficult.

The Stanford Cardinal finished up the regular season with a 20 point win over San Diego State. The 48 points was the 2nd most points the Cardinal put up all season. Pritchard had 3 TD passes and Kimble had 3 total TDs. The Cardinal qualify for a good bowl game. Time will tell who the Cardinal will have to tangle with next.

Kimble scored 2 TD's and Pritchard had 2 TD passes as the Cardinal beat rival Cal 27-7.

The Stanford Cardinal have stunned previously undefeated and #3 team in the country the USC Trojans. This victory propels Stanford into one of the top teams in the Pac-10

No scoring occured in the first quarter. Both teams had their chances but Stanford CB Evans picked off a Sanchez pass. Forcier fumbled the ball back to USC but the Stanford defense held there ground and forced a USC punt.

Stanford's A. Kimble scored on a short TD to get the scoring started. USC had to punt again and Stanford lost starting QB Forcier for the rest of the season and lost WR Rance for the game. USC would tie the game with a TD pass. Stanford would get a field goal to end the 1st half scoring. Stanford 10 - USC 7.

Stanford got the ball to start the 2nd half and drove down the field to score on a pass from backup QB Pritchard to Fleener. USC would answer right back with another TD pass. 17-14 Stanford at the end of 3 quarters.

Pritchard would find FB Marecic to give Stanford a 10 point lead. USC would add back to back TD scores take take a 28-24 lead. Stanford would sack Sanchez for a safety and score on a TD pass after the free kick from USC. Stanford would hold the USC offense and kick a FG to end the scoring and the upset. Final score Stanford 37 USC 28.
