Cardinal Land First Conference Win At Washington
Stanford won it's first conference game in 3 tries as the defeated the Washington Huskies 27-9. The win came with its consequences though as running back Kimlbe left in the 2nd quarter and did not return and backup running back McGraw went out in the 3rd quarter and did not return.
Washington got the scoring started with a field goal early in the first quarter. Stanford would answer with a 3 yard run by Kimble. Washington would kick another field goal. This one from 55 yards out bringing the score to 7-6 Stanford. Stanford found the endzone a second time as Forcier hit Morecic on a 6 yard pass making the score 14-6 after the 1st Quarter.
After Kimble left the game in the 2nd Quarter bacup running back McGraw came into the game and scored on a pass from Forcier. Stanford would add another field goal at the end of the half to make the score 24-6.
In the 3rd quarter McGraw left the game and Stanford was down to there 3rd string running back. Washington added a field goal in the 3rd to make the score 24-9.
The 4th quarter was pretty uneventful, only a field goal by Stanford. After the game we learned Kimble will return next week vs. rival Notre Dame. However, McGraw will be out atleast 2 weeks with a torn pectoral muscle.
