Thats not the 69 we were looking for...

Navy made the return trip to Pocatello, after thrashing the Bengals 89-6 last year. Navy came in thinking it was going to be much of the same, but boy, were they wrong. (kinda) After a Nic Jesse TD, QB M. Hagler was injured and taken from the game, and coaches awaited word on his status. A few plays later, they learned that he had a Broken Shoulder Blade, and would miss the rest of the season. The coaches then made the decision to remove the redshirt from Freshman QB Kendrick Bolen. The first quarter ended with only a 7-0 lead for Navy.

After exchanging punts, Navy scored on a long run from Reggie Campbell to extend the lead to 14-0. NAvy then forced a fumble from Bolen, who got up slowly and was unable to play for a couple of quarters. ISU then turned to their final QB on the roster, Luc Martin. After a Navy field goal, Scott Davis fumbled the kick return and Navy scored another TD. Martin then threw an interception, but Brad Winston made his first carreer INT to get ISU into halftime only down 24-0.

ISU got the ball to start the second half, but Martin promptly threw another INT. That led to a 48 yard FG by Gauge to pull Navy ahead 27-0. Martin continued to throw interceptions until he was injured as well, and P Nick Oliver was brought in to take snaps and hand the ball off. Meanwhile, Navy put up 31 points in the 3rd quarter to have a 55-0 lead going into the 4th quarter.

After Keenan Bolen returned in the 4th, ISU got some offense going. Barnett would score from 1 yard out, and Bolen and Akilah Lacey would hook up twice to close the gap slightly. Navy scored 2 TDs to make the final score 69-21 Navy.
