ISU begins stretch of playing ranked teams
ISU welcomed #21 Tulsa to the Dome this week. ISU would recieve the opening kickoff, but fumble on the ensueing drive. Tulsa would be forced to punt, and that would be all the interesting things for this quarter. After 5 or so punts, it was still a 0-0 game.
Things proceeded to implode on the Bengals in the 2nd quarter. Tracy kicked his first field goal of the game to put Tulsa up 3-0, ISU would follow with a punt. Tulsa then drove down and scored on a 27 yard pass from Smith to Curtis. ISU again answered with a punt, and Tulsa took it down the field for a 7 yard TD from Johnson. Punt, FG, punt, FG, and the halftime score would be 23-0 Tulsa.
Tulsa got the ball to start the second half, and continued to pile it on with a TD pass from Smith to Grooms. ISU again punted, and Smith was able to find Meyer in the endzone for another TD. Teams would exchange punts after that, and the quarter ended with an Everett INT for Tulsa, making the score going into the 4th 37-0 Tulsa.
Tulsa would be forced to punt after the Everett INT, but ISU sstill couldn't get anything going and did the same thing. Tulsa would get a 4th FG from Tracy to go up 36-0, but ISU would finally get on the board with a 44 yard FG from Tony Houston. Tulsa would run the clock down after that, driving down the field slowly and getting a 5 yard TD with 25 seconds left to make the final score 47-3 Tulsa.
