Terps Embarrass Virginia, 44-14

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Five first half turnovers did in the home squad as Maryland easily defeated rival Virginia. Maryland defenders spent the day knocking the snot out of whoever touched the ball for the Cavaliers and the Terps offense was able to take advantage of a short field on several occasions. Virginia blew their only chance to get back into the game early in the 2nd quarter. With Maryland already leading 17-0, Virginia was driving down the field and had the ball inside the Terrapin 20 yard line looking to cut the lead to 10. Maryland cornerback Tony Logan stepped in front of a slant pattern and took it to paydirt to put the Terps up 24-0. That was more than enough as Maryland put it on cruise control from there.

The Terps (3-2, 2-1 ACC) stay on the road next week to take on 4-1 Clemson.

NCAA NOTES: #1 Oklahoma continued to impress by defeating #13 Oklahoma State in the annual 'Bedlam' game. #4 Arkansas was upset by #16 Georgia.
