Arizona gets the win thanks to a late interception

Arizona jumped out early on the Aggies as they scored their first two touchdowns in a matter of two and half minutes. A touchdown drive was followed up by an interception returned for touchdown. The Aggies offense was able to put together a touchdown drive of their own as the first quarter came to an end with a score of 14-7 Arizona.

Utah State scored another touchdown in the second quarter to tie the game up at 14 but the Wildcats kicked a field goal with one second to go in the half to take a halftime lead of 17-14.

Both teams came out in the third quarter knowing they had to do something to pull away from the other, but both the Wildcats and the Aggies had touchdown drives which made this an exciting game going into the fourth quarter at 24-21 in favor of the Wildcats.

Early in the fourth quarter Utah State kicked a field goal to tie the game up behind the leg of Ulinski. Arizona came right back and drove down the field with a touchdown drive. However, they missed the extra point and left it wide open for the Aggies to take. And that is exactly what the Aggies did. USU drove down the field capping off with a 67 yard strike from McCormick to Russel. At this point the score was 31-30 USU. Arizona showed why they are a top 25 team and proved it by driving down the field for a game winning touchdown drive.

However, regardless of the score the defense played a sound game while off field distractions involving McCormick floated around. McCormick played his worst collegiate game of his career throwing 5 interceptions and fumbling the ball once. The buzz on campus though is that McCormick was up late partying at an Arizona sorority house. Time will tell of his punishment.

After the game Coach McGriffLe had this to say, "First of all the game, we played good defensively. Our offense but our defense in a lot of tough situations but the did a good job of holding the Arizona offense down. As for the rumors about McCormick, I have spoken to athletic director Stunt526 and together we have decided to suspend Jase McCormick for one game vs UNLV for his actions this weekend. As for what actually happened I can not discuss the matter in depth. It is being taken care of.
