All Quiet in Week 6

Dominate second half proves to be key to victory for USU

Utah State scored a touchdown on its opening drive of the game by way of a 16 yard pass from Borel to Sawyer. San Jose State's RB P. Perry answered right back with a 75 yard touchdown run to tie the game up at 7. SJSU's kicker Strubeck drilled a 44 yard field goal to take a 3 point lead. The Aggies Brandon Davis added a 1 yard touchdown run as the first quarter came to an end making the score 14-10 USU.

San Jose State answered in the second quarter with 10 unanswered points which came way of a field goal and an 11 yard touchdown run by Perry. The Aggies were not to be outdone though as they drove down the field for their own touchdown drive. Borel connected with Russel for a 6 yard TD which made the score 21-20 heading into halftime.

The second half proved to be dominated by the Aggies in all aspects of the game. The lone score for Spartans was a 100 yard kickoff return. Meanwhile the Aggies scored 3 touchdowns, 2 by way of air and 1 by ground. The Aggies also added a field goal in the 4th quarter to make the final score 45-26.

After the game Coach McGriffLe had this to say, "I am very impressed with how we played today. We came out with a fire in our eyes and never had a let down. We are now 2-0 in the WAC. Teams need to be on the look out for us. WE are NOT, I repeat not the bottoms feeds of the WAC that we used to be!"
