Safety proves vital in Aggie win

Idaho seems to put up a great fight everytime they play the Aggies and this year was no different. Idaho came out early and jumped to a 7-0 lead after a 55 yard touchdown pass from Enderle to Williams. USU answered back with a touchdown drive of their own to tie the game up at 7. But with just under two minutes remaining in the first quarter Idaho scored another touchdown to make it 14-7.

The second quarter started off with a safety by the tough bend but dont break Aggie defense. As that was the only score of the entire second quarter making the halftime score 14-9.

USU received the ball at the half had a solid drive which lead to a Ulinski field goal and a score of 14-12. Idaho answered with a very quick score that only took 20 seconds off the clock. But not to be outdone, USU drove down the field for two more touchdowns in the third period making the score 27-21.

Most of the fourth quarter showed little offense until the Aggies managed to get 3 out of their kicker to take a 30-21 lead. During the fourth quarter the Aggies lost starting QB Jase McCormick with a dislocated elbow. The early diagnoses says he will miss roughly 8 weeks. Idaho was not going to go down without a fight as they drove right down the field and scored a touchdown to make the game 30-28. The onside kicked failed and USU hung on for the two point victory.

After the game Coach McGriffLe had this to say, "First of all I wanted to say that we played one heck of a game. We fought back from being down all game to win it in the 4th quarter. I am very proud of our guys. Secondly I wanted to talk about injuries. Curtis Gandy our 4 star starting freshman free safety has a hip pointer injury and should be back by the time we play our rival Utah. Jase McCormick has a dislocated elbow and will probably be out for the rest of the season. He will be missed. D. Borel will step up and produce for us."
