Virginia Tech handles Duke to move to 3-0 in ACC play

After Duke scored the first points of the game on a 34 yard field goal, Tech fans' hopes of a dream season, capped off with a national championship, was hanging in the balance.

Not really.

After the early score by the Duke Blue Devils, Virginia Tech tallied off 56 unanswered points to earn the 56-3 victory, moving them to 3-0 in the ACC, 7-0 overall.

Once again, the Hokies high-powered offense was led by a combination of quarterback Tyrod Taylor's and running back Branden Ore's play.

Taylor put up 361 yards in the air on 16 completions, four of which went for touchdowns. Ore helped to move the ball a mere 113 yards on the ground, dinking and dunking for three touchdowns along the way.

The dynamic duo is getting praise from around the nation, but Virginia Tech head coach Justin Jett warned them against inflated egos.

"I just said that they better be sure not to let this success get to their heads," Jett said. "We can't have two players thinking they're better than they really are."
