VT violates Ohio 63-3

Through the arm of quarterback Tyrod Taylor and the legs of running back Branden Ore, Virginia Tech improved to 3-0 after a 63-3 rout of the Ohio Bobcats.

Taylor, who continued his impressive season, threw for four touchdowns and kept the interception column empty for another game. Critics critized head coach Justin Jett for starting a true freshman quarterback who joined the team in the Fall, but so far, Jett has been proved right.

"Tyrod has the one-two punch that this offense needs," Jett said. "He can run, and boy can he pass."

Taylor, when asked about his impressive start, put all of his success on his coaches.

"I wouldn't be where I am today without my coaches," Taylor said. "Even in HS, they taught me the fundamentals and made me what I am today."

With the massive win over Ohio, analysts are predicting that Tech may have the chance at playing in the national championship.

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit picked Virginia Tech to head to the national championship on ESPN's College GameDay, and the win over Ohio only solidified his stance.

"I haven't seen a team this impressive both offensively and defensively in quite a while," Herbstreit said. "Ore and Taylor are the perfect companions for each other."

The Hokies are looking to continue their winning ways next week against 1-AA opponent the William and Mary Tribe.
