Hokies dominate in Chick-Fil-A victory, 38-10
Unlike last year's debacle in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, the Virginia Tech Hokies were able to defeat the Kentucky Wildcats, 38-10, to improve their record to 12-1 on the season.
With the help of freshman quarterback Tyrod Taylor, the Hokies put up 357 yards on offense and four touchdowns, all four stemming from a Taylor play. The fifth touchdown was scored on a 42-yard interception return by linebacker Xavier Adibi, his first of the season.
"It's nice to get one final touchdown to close out my career," Adibi said.
Adibi's interception was one of three interceptions thrown by Kentucky's Andre Woodson, who threw for 180 yards on 39 attempts.
The win over Kentucky is considered to be a great accomplishment for Tech new head coach Justin Jett, but he put all the praise on the players.
"Coaches can only do so much. We can teach them the fundamentals and teach them the plays," Jett said. "But in the end, it's up to the players to execute the plays. That they did this season."
