Cowboys Roll

In a game that featured temperatures in the mid 40's with rain, the Wyoming Cowboys were determined not to let the cold Seattle rain ruin their night. No matter who the Cowboys put in the game, each and every player made it a miserable night for the Washington Huskies.

While totaling 439 total yards of offense of their own, 330 of that through the air, Wyoming's stellar defense allowed only 79 yards of total offense to the Washington Huskies. QB Jake Locker was only able to complete 4 passes on the night for a total of 52 yards, and for the second straight game, the Cowboys' opponent was unable to reach the redzone.

"We pride ourselves on making tackles and making sure everyone runs to the ball. Coach preaches tackling to us every day in practice and it has paid off." said MLB Tom Merriman.

Even the big linemen wanted in on the action tonight.

"I think we had somewhere around 20 plays that were stopped for no gain or for a loss and of that, I our D-linemen had over half of those stops. They really played, tonight, like I think they can. We saw these guys up front reach that "potential" that everyone talked about before the season. When your D-line plays like they did tonight, you will be in any game you play in, thats for sure." said Coach T.

Leroy Williams was again the star offensively for the Cowboys totaling 297 yards through the air and 4 touchdowns. At one point in the game, he even completed 11 straight passes. This air attack is really proving to be good for Wyoming and with the emergence of the receiving corps this year, this offense could be something special.

NOTEWORTHY:

Coach T lined up TE/DE Elliot Banks in the slot a few times tonight. "It just creates mismatches outside and with his athleticism, he is able to perform when we put him in the slot. I mean, as big and fast as he is, we were able to throw that fade to him in the 2nd quarter and he just out jumped the defender to grab it." said Coach T. His athleticism showed tonight as he grabbed 4 balls for 56 yards and one TD.

WR Jared Killpack had a career day finishing with career highs in catches (7), yards (139), and added 4 special teams tackles on the day.
