2007 Week 1

Headed into the season clemson lost atleast 6 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense. All of the spots were filled by players that had played at clemson for a year or two who were waiting in the wings. Except one. This player was a true freshmen and he was called on to start for the tigers. That person was QB Matt Harris. Harris who is the little brother to former West Virginia QB Major Harris did not dissapoint vs the Pirates. He thew the ball 14 times(completed 10) for 300+ yards and 4 touchdowns, 60 yards rushing with 1 touchdown. Quite a opening. All four touchdown passes were on playes that were longer than 45 yards. Matt Harris came into the off season dedicated to start fot the tigers. The tigers already had unheralded qb Tribble Reese who became a fan favorate last season for engineering 2 major comebacks wins such as florida in the orange bowl. Reese was a lock to start until he started loathing in the off season. James Davis had a super outing with 12 carries for 151 yards and 4 touchdowns also. The Tigers look forward to next week when they face off at Army.
