2007 Week 7

Headed into the week there was talk of heisman for james davis, coach of the year for tommy bowden, ACC championshiop, heck even national championship. The tigers just jumped by notre dame and North Carolina State was coming of a 42-23 loss to maryland. Everything looked good for the tigers and everything bad for the wolfpack. But for the 2nd time in two years, State runningback Andre Brown would thrash the tigers defense for 200+ and 3touchdowns. The game started simple enough with the tigers getting on the board early with a fg. But from that point on it was horrible. Runningback james davis fumbled 3 times including the opening kickoff which was returned for a touch down. The tigers ended up having 7 turnovers on the day. At one point in the 3rd quarter the score was 34-3. Luckily the tigers left there starters in the relish the beatdown while state placed there 2nd and 3rd string in the game. What resulted was 2 scores by the tigers...Also what resulted was 20points by state vs clemson's first string defense..It was painfully odvious the tigers just layed a huge egg. Matt Harris had a qb rating of 60. It was the first truly horrible game of his career. He had had several sloppy games but ended up pulling it out in the end. Next week the tigers face the Virginia Tech Hokies. The hokies are ranked 9th as the tigers fall from 5th to 10th. Clemson can regain momentum with a big win
