With no major matchups or upsets in the Top 25, there were no major changes from last week's standings. Georgia still holds the #1 spot and secured the majority of the first place votes, with #2 Stanford receiving the rest. USC leapfrogged Oklahoma State to the #7 position after their 36-24 win over Utah.
Vanderbilt fell to #18 after losing to Texas A&M and Oregon State fell to #20 after their loss to Stanford.
Exiting the Top 25 were Oregon, Missouri, Virginia, and Fresno State, all of whom lost over the weekend. Replacing them in the final four spots were Notre Dame (5-3), Texas (4-3), Boise State (6-2), and Georgia Tech (6-2).

Florida State destroys Miami 71-16
To say that Florida State dominated Miami throughout the game would be an understatement. The Seminoles controlled both sides of the ball, scored 5 touchdowns from the offense and 3 touchdowns from the defense, and Roberto Aguayo kicked 5 field goals to give Florida State a 71-16 victory over their in-state rival.
Jameis Winston threw for 231 yards and 4 touchdowns, 3 in the first half to give FSU a 41-3 lead at halftime. Kenny Shaw caught 5 passes for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kelvin Benjamin added one grab for 52 yards en route to the Florida State victory. All three of Florida State's running backs got into the game and combined for 127 yards between them.
However, the offense wasn't asked to do much because of the performance that the defense put up. The Seminole defense intercepted Miami quarterback Stephen Morris a grand total of 6 times, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns by Keelin Smith. Lamarcus Joyner, Tyler Hunter, and PJ Williams also recorded interceptions in the game. Timmy Jernigan, who has had a slow start to the season, sacked Morris 3 times in the game. Even the second-team defense was productive when it came in. Reggie Northrup sacked Morris in the 4th quarter which caused a fumble which DeMarcus Walker returned for a touchdown.
Miami star running back Duke Johnson left the game before halftime with a concussion after a hard hit from Terrance Smith, which caused the Hurricanes to abandon the run game.
Florida State goes on the road next week to play Wake Forest in their second-to-last conference game before returning home to play Syracuse in their conference final.
