2006 Week 9

"Piece of cake" said Coach DeLoye in response to the UNC beatdown. "Let's all be realistic here people, this is The University of North Carolina. When have they ever done anythign worthwhile in the football community?" Coach DeLoye had a point as UNC came into the game a very surprising 5-2. But Wake had no problem beating the shit out of them. The score was actually 31-8 but UNC scored on the last play of the game. So now Wake Forest is only one game away from being bowl eligible with Boston College, Florida State, Virigina Tech, and Maryland left on the schedule. "I'm a very optimistic person. BC is beatable. FSU is the only 3 loss team in the top 25 and are very beatable. VT, well, yeah we're probably gonna lose that one. But Maryland blows and we should easily win that one to get bowl eligible if we aren't already." [Micah] Andrews had a career day against UNC rushing for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 15 carries. However, Mauk struggled a little while only completing 40% of his passes for 0 TD.

Next week's game features Wake Forest against Boston College(6-2). Just ranked this week, Wake hopes to knock them right back off the rankings with a win at home.
