Heartbreaker in Boulder
Rodney Stewart ran for a 5 yard Touchdown with 57 seconds left to give Colorado the go-ahead score and help lead the Buffoloes over West Virginia 29-28 Thursday night in Boulder. West Virginia had taken a 28-23 lead early in the fourth quarter but was unable to hold CU when it counted.
Quarterback Pat White once again had an outstanding game throwing the ball. White finished 19 of 29 for 299 yards and 4 touchdowns. Noel Devine had a huge game both running the ball and catching passes. Devine finished with 89 yards on the ground and 106 receiving. Two of his catches went for touchdowns. Alric Arnett led all receivers with 7 catches for 146 yards and two more touchdowns.
Defensively WVU was led by Safety Quinton Andrews' 9 stops, including two tackles for loss. One of the biggest difference makers in the game was WVU's 9 penalties for 72 yards.
The Mountaineers will return to action Saturday, September 27th against Marshall in the Friends of Coal Bowl.
