White Leads WVU to Sun Bowl Win
Pat White once again led his team to victory. Once again, it was in a bowl game. White threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns as West Virginia downed Oregon State 42-7. White also added another 62 yards on the ground as WVU rolled up 334 yards of total offense. Not to be outdone, the Eer defense intercepted the Beavers 5 times with Brandon Hogan returning the last of them 48 yards for the final margin of victory.
Junior WR Alric Arnett again had a great game catching 5 balls for 111 yards and two scores. The first a 76 yard catch and run from White. The second, a 12 yarder from backup Jarrett Brown who was in while White was on the sidelines after taking a shot early in the third quarter.
The Mountaineer defense, as they have done all year, really made the difference in the contest. In addition to the 5 interceptions thrown, the Eers defense did not allow the Beavers a single trip inside the Red-Zone. Junior Safety Boogie Allen led the way with 6 tackles, 2 for loss, and one interception.
