Not to be outdone, the Eer defense intercepted the Beavers 5 times with Brandon Hogan returning the last of them 48 yards for the final margin of victory.

Junior WR Alric Arnett again had a great game catching 5 balls for 111 yards and two scores. The first a 76 yard catch and run from White. The second, a 12 yarder from backup Jarrett Brown who was in while White was on the sidelines after taking a shot early in the third quarter.

The Mountaineer defense, as they have done all year, really made the difference in the contest. In addition to the 5 interceptions thrown, the Eers defense did not allow the Beavers a single trip inside the Red-Zone. Junior Safety Boogie Allen led the way with 6 tackles, 2 for loss, and one interception.

Game Report Posted: February 13, 2009 21:01

For two years, South Florida has frustrated the Mountaineer faithful. On Saturday night it again looked like the Bulls were gonna break the hearts of Mountaineer fans everywhere. But as so often he has done in the last four years, Patrick White led his team to victory, this time on an emotional Senior Night in Morgantown.

White threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns on a cold and snowy night in North Central West Virginia. But it wasn't so much his statistics as his sheer determination to leave Mountaineer Field victorous just one more time.

West Virginia's defense put on a gutsy performance as well. Safety Quinton Andrews and cornerback Brandon Hogan had huge games stuffing the Bull rushing attack. Andrews finished with 11 tackles, including 3 for losses. Meanwhile Hogan ammassed 10 stops on the night with 4 of those coming in the Bull backfield.

West Virginia will now await it's Bowl destination for 2008. It appears as though the Eers will head to either Charlotte for the Meineke Car Care Bowl or El Paso, Texas for the Sun Bowl. West Virginia finishes the regular season with a 8-4 record overall, with a 5-2 record in the Big East Conference.
