IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
Freshman TE Curtis Stanley hauled in a touchdown in the back of the endzone to push our lead up to two scores. Up to that point, we were only up by four points. And after Demetrius Gadson's muffed punt return, I was feeling particularly nervous that the game could be swung at any point if they only needed one lucky break to take the lead.

GAME BALLS
ILB Leon Neal, our smallest starting LB (and considered to be our worst pass-rushing LB in the starting lineup), closed the deal on three of his blitzes. ... Unheralded freshman TE Curtis Stanley, considered to be a "blocking TE," continued to make a name for himself in the passing game. He caught 5 balls for 78 yards and two scores, both in the 4th quarter to clinch the victory. He's only the fourth player I've had to catch 2 TDs in a single game. ... And QB Tony Williams has to get a mention, simply for stepping in at QB with starter D.J. McPhearson lost for the season with his broken wrist. We really tried to take the air out of the ball by running it most of the game, but Williams finally broke through with a couple TD tosses in the fourth to lock down the victory.

KEY STATISTICS
We never allowed Dartmouth's offense to penetrate the redzone. ... Despite having the ball most of the game, we only reached third down 8 times. And we converted 5 of those. ... Our defense recorded 7 sacks. 1 of them came from a defensive lineman, and the rest came from blitzing LB's and CB's. ... Our receivers dropped the ball six times. Had they caught those balls, Tony Williams' completion percentage would've been much better than 45%.

NOTES
TE Curtis Stanley was named our Player of the Game. Our previous three Players of the Game had all been defensive players. ... FB David Taylor's 123 yard performance cracked the Top 10 single game rushing performances since the team moved to the FBS.
