IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
We drove the field in the fourth quarter following Pittsburgh's TD run that put them within a score. We marched down the field on them, despite two booth reviews that tried to take away two consecutive 3rd and long conversions. We ended up kicking a FG as time expired. We didn't need the FG, but it was a little icing on the victory.

GAME BALLS
QB Tony Williams had an amazingly efficient game. He completed 12 of 17 passes, he scrambled for a few first downs, and he mostly did well protecting the ball. ... HB Michael Clarke picked up 147 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. His performance was a big reason we were able to hodl onto the ball for twenty minutes, choking the life out of the game clock. ... Freshman OLB Greg Walker notched his second 2-sack game of the year. He's still a work in progress as he adjusts to LB from his original DE position, but he's off to a fine start as a pressure player in our 3-4 front.

KEY STATISTICS
We picked up 20 first downs. ... We controlled the ball for 20:35, compared to about 7 minutes for Pittsburgh. ... Pittsburgh's starting QB threw 10 passes, and their starting HB ran the ball 12 times. We kept the ball away from them all day long.

NOTES
K Patrick Long's 39 yard FG in the 4th quarter was the longest he's connected on for me. ... HB Michael Clarke's 147 yards were the 6th most we've had in a single game during my time here. It was his 2nd best game, behind his 157 yarder against Dartmouth in 2008.
