Woodson, Wildcats shoot down Owls
The Kentucky Wildcats(4-1) picked up their fourth win in a row with an easy 34-6 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls(3-2). Senior quarterback Andre Woodson had his best game of the season, finishing 23 of 29 for 243 yards & 3TD... and for the first time this season, no interceptions.
FAU was doomed on their very first possession of the game. Owls hurler Sean Clayton got picked off by Wesley Woodyard, who took it back for the pick six. Andre Woodson would add two touchdown passes, and Kentucky led 21-0 after the first quarter. Senior receiver Keenan Burton led the team with 7 receptions for 82 yards & 2 TDs. Burton has caught at least one TD in each of the last four games.
Kentucky's defense impressed again, holding FAU to just 222 offensive yards(106 rush). Junior linebacker Braxton Kelley led the defense with 12 tackles, a sack & fumble recovery.
Kentucky will be working on short rest this week as they travel to South Carolina for a Thursday night game. The Gamecocks are 3-2, having lost their last two conference games to LSU and Mississippi State. Coach Camp & the Wildcats are considering this a 'must win' game, because their next two games are against LSU & Florida.
