Wildcats cruise past Gamecocks, but lose Impact player

On the grand stage of a Thursday evening game, the Kentucky Wildcats traveled to Williams-Brice Stadium and pummeled the South Carolina Gamecocks 28-3, extending their winning streak to five games this season. But late in the fourth quarter, Wildcats stud runningback Rafael Little went down hard, and back spasms will keep him sidelined for the next three weeks.

Little, who has rushed for 566 yards & 7TD in 6 games this year will miss huge games against Top 10 teams LSU and Florida.

"Bad time for Rafael to get hurt, but what can you do," Coach Camp commented. "I like what I've seen in Alfonso Smith so far this year, and chances are he'll be the starter next year, so he'll be getting carries."

Quarterback Andre Woodson won Player of the Game honors for the second straight week, this time he was 16 of 26 for 227yds, TD, INT, but Woodson also picked up his first two rushing TDs of the season(see below for video).

Kentucky's defense miffed Gamecocks quarterback Blake Mitchell, he went 15 of 30 for 174yds & 2 INT. Sophomore cornerback Paul Warford may have played the best game of his career, recording two interceptions.

Next week the Kentucky Wildcats(5-1) may meet their biggest challenge of the season in #6 LSU(5-1). Both teams have undefeated conference records, but the Tigers have scored at least 38 points in all of their last four games(all victories). It should be interesting to see how the Wildcats defense, who haven't allowed more than 309 yards in one game this year, perform against such a good team.
