Wildcats win 12 turnover Outback Bowl
Tampa, FL - In undoubtedly one of the most entertaining Outback Bowls in history, the Kentucky Wildcats dramatically eeked out a 41-34 win against #16 Purdue Boilermakers(9-3).
After Purdue's kicker Tim Dougherty tied the game with just 44 seconds left, senior Andre Woodson was pumped about hopefully marching down field and organizing the game winning drive in the senior's last career game as a Wildcat. But he wouldn't get the chance. Fellow senior Keenan Burton took the ensuing kick return back 90 yards for the score and six point lead.
Never a dull moment in this bowl game that saw an astounding 12 turnovers(6 each), 7 of which were fumbles. Wildcats senior WR Dicky Lyons had a game he'll never forget, catching 8 passes for 260 yards & 4TDs. Lyons has had a very quiet season, coming into this game he had just 26 receptions, but he's a smart and hardworking player.
Andre Woodson had the best game of his season in his last game as a Wildcat, tossing 18 of 30 for 349yds, 4TD & 3INT. It was the first time this season he passed for more than 300 yards.
