San Jose State Snaps Boise's 39 Game Winning Streak
In what many consider the greatest win in San Jose State football history the Spartans were able to down the Boise State Broncos, ending their amazing 39 game winning streak by a score of 47-34.
Playing without Graham Everson, who was out due to suspension, the recently healed Bryan Holland stepped in and threw for 376 yards and 5 touchdowns. "Bryan stepped in and was a little rusty but really impressed me with his leadership and his ability to make a big play. I was proud of him for the job he did just coming back from injury this week. We originally had plans of having Graham start but he was suspended to Bryan had to." Coach Williams said.
Trey Dorsey also had a huge game running for 185 yards and one touchdown. His touchdown came on an 80 yard run right up the gut untouched in the second quarter. "You know my line blocked for me, gave me the room I needed and I was off. All of the credit goes to them on that run. They did a hell of a job."
Jeremy Harrell also had a huge game catching twelve passes for 196 yards and a couple touchdowns.
This win puts San Jose State in the drivers seat for the WAC Championship and extends their winning streak to four, making their overall record 4-3 after starting the season at 0-3. Next week the Spartans will travel to take on the Hawaii Warriors. Boise State will look to rebound as they try to rebuild their amazing streak that was stopped one short of 40.
