Senior Day Proves to be Happy for Spartans

Despite the season not being over for more than a month the San Jose State Spartans celebrated their senior day Saturday as they faced the rival Fresno State Bulldogs.

It was a sloppy day with the rain coming down and the wind swirling, but the Spartans were able to maintain their undefeated WAC league record as they defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 35-23.

"We did what we had to do out their to pick up the victory," Coach Williams said following the contest, "Bryan played extremely well, didn't throw any interceptions and that is one of the main reasons we were able to pick up the victory. I also have to give a lot of props to our defense and halfback Trey Dorsey."

Trey Dorsey didn't run for many yards picking up just 69 yards, but he was able to run for two touchdowns and also caught ten passes from quarterback Bryan Holland, one of which was for a touchdown.

Fresno State struggled holding onto the football turning the football over four times. Three of those turnovers led to San Jose State points which proved to be the winning stat for the Spartans.

San Jose State will be off next week before they end the season on the road against the two cellar dwellers of the WAC the New Mexico State Aggies and the Idaho Vandals.
