Spartans Win, Even Record at 3-3

The San Jose State Spartans were able to defeat the Utah State Aggies Saturday afternoon and improve their record to a very respectable 3-3, winning 47-20.

It wasn't a very pretty win in the least bit, but at this juncture of the season San Jose State coach Jason Williams said they will take any kind of victory they can get, "We continue to work hard in practice in hopes of improving our gameplan and execution for Saturday's. It's a work in progress so any win we can get now is a big win. Come the end of the season you will see a completely different football club. We will no longer be the 'sure win' on anyones schedule. We will prove we belong."

Graham Everson had a terrible game passing completing only eight of thirty five attempts but did throw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. "When you have fast receivers they can really help your yards per reception average. Carl (Stewart) really bailed me out today. I need to get back on the practice field with my teammates and just work on timing. Seems like if we can do that we can be lethal."

Anthony Henderson led the way for the Spartans on the defensive side of the football totaling up 14 touchdowns and an interception. "I was very impressed with the play of Anthony. He is quickly becoming the leader of our defense and should continue to improve as the season progresses, I have been more than happy with what he has shown me." Coach Williams said.

Next week will be the biggest game of the season for the Spartans as they host the Boise State Broncos. The Broncos will come in riding an amazing 39 game winning streak.
